Eltono Pubblico

15.01.2009 - 28.02.2009
Eltono, proposes in project "Pubblico", as it is becoming a main argument in his works lately, that the public is the protagonist of his work. This time, the spectator is part of the creation and the final result of the work. The experiment plays with the interactivity that exists in the street and wants to study how outer and uncontrolled factors of the artist affect the works installed in the street, changing them non-stop. This way, the artist reflects on the sacred aspect of art leaving his creations to self-evolve and generating an uncertain "without control" final result.

Eboy Pixorama

13.01.2009 - 04.02.2009
Pixorama is huge supercomplex urban scenes built out of hundred of parts which themselves are build with eBoy's magic object: the pixel. Pixorama is the culmination of a modular and object oriented work style that introduces reusability and remodulation of its atomic parts. Like the real cities, Pixoramas are living objects that constantly change and grow. Pixorama is not a comment but reality in itself.

Mark Mulroney Follow the Nosebleeds

08.01.2009 - 07.02.2009
Mixed Greens is elated to announce their third exhibition with Mark Mulroney. This time, he uses collage, drawing, painting, sound, and sculpture to expose the viewer to a fascinating, interconnected universe of religious and scatological thought. In Follow the Nosebleeds, Mulroney re-imagines Mixed Greens as a more intimate, studio-like space. He divides the gallery with constructions, furniture, and partitions all made of cardboard (loosely based on the haunted houses he built with his brothers as a child). In this setting, mixed media and diverse content inspire active participation by the viewer.

Momo 1000

18.12.2008 - 08.02.2009
MOMO will bring 1000 variations of his "MOMO Maker" series, silkscreened in a new small size, and display them in a giant mass. The "MOMO Maker" series began a year ago as an joke to see if a computer could create MOMO's artwork for him. And its worked very well. The bulk of prints are wheatpasted in public spaces, sometimes with invented equipment to reach new urban spaces. The online system discovers 174,720 possibilities, of those, the serigraph will produce 1500, & we'll exhibit just 1000.

Moki Mume

13.12.2008 - 16.01.2009
After her exhibition "fox in the snow“ in 2005, the heliumcowboy artspace is presenting moki’s new work in her upcoming show in December. "Mume“, the title of the show, inspires our imagination and seems familiar at the same time, although you can never be sure if you have really ever heard the expression. Is it an animal? A mythical creature? Or a plant? What moki is really interested in is not the actual meaning of the expression itself, but the potential it holds to inspire us. Her imagery stands out due to her exhilitarting photorealistic style, while, at the same time, it emanates something magical and oniric.

Gabriel Colaço Stations

06.12.2008 - 10.01.2009
In this new body of works called "Stations", Gabriel Colaço exposes us to a re-evaluation of shape of the painted object and practical use of structures. Through slicing and moving the image sections and rearranging them with striking new colours, the common context and utility of the representation get lost to offer a new perception of the image.

Greg Marinovich & Leonie Marinovich Prospects of Babel

03.12.2008 - 17.01.2009
Prospects of Babel brings together the work of Pullitzer winner Greg Marinovich and Leonie Marinovich. This work is result of their collaboration with 5 other photographers for a book of the same title, exploring life in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Concentrating on two interlinked themes – money and God, Greg's work captures the sense of the foreboding that underlies almost all interactions in the volatile DRC. Leonie on the other hand captures two aspects of the DRC with her compelling work on mineral diggers as well as street life on the teaming streets of Lubumbashi.

Jaybo As Far As You Can See

20.11.2008 - 01.02.2009
While viewing some of Jaybo’s paintings, brushstrokes and figure characterizations are vaguely suggestive of Francis Bacon, the influence of Asian art can be seen, or slivers of the world of Walt Disney make an appearance – like his projection on the Berlin Cathedral, transformed into a veritable tidal wave of Mickey-Mouse hands. Jaybo himself characterizes these sorts of stylistic quotes as “visual reflexes,” designed to involve the observer by using their high level of familiarity with the elements interacting within the picture. It rests with the public to create meaning behind the artwork by allowing these imaginations to play out and by superimposing the pictures with their own experiences.

Jaybo is a runaway, setting out and wandering along in a physical as well as in a creative sense. In his youth, he ran away from his house in southern France, settling in Berlin-Kreuzberg at the beginning of the 1980’s, where he busied himself as a graffiti writer, street actor and hip-hop musician. When he founded the streetwear label “Irie Daily” and the cultural magazine “Style” at the beginning of the 1990’s, his influence on Berlin’s youth culture and fashion scene could be clearly seen. Even today, urban subculture is the driving force behind his artistic activities.

Bruno 9li Suma

14.11.2008 - 09.01.2009
Mythological, spiritual, pantheistic: the first adjectives to illustrate Bruno 9li's metaphysical world, one of the most interesting emergent artists within brasilian artistic panorama. At the same time 9li sinthetizing whithin his artistic production several dichotomies and contraddictions of the brazilian world: metropolitan, ephemeral and technological. In his works, animals seem to spring out the diaries and bestiaries of the first European explorers of the "New World", epic heroes strongly impose themselves to spectator's attention, trought an immersion in a supernatural and ancerstral world. A return to origins, a lost golden age, pregnant of symbology. With his frenetic and saturated line, 9li draws a chaotically ordered world, ruled by a mysterious alchemy that controles, between past and future, death and resurrection, fantastic metamorphosis and genetic mutations of beasts and paladins into demigods and androids. This is Bruno 9li's first exhibition in Denmark.

The Little Friends of Printmaking Mind Gangsters

12.11.2008 - 15.01.2009
You can easily spot The Little Friends of Printmaking in a crowd—their inky hands and clothes are a dead giveaway. Their artwork is just as distinctive. Husband-and-wife team JW & Melissa Buchanan first made a name for themselves by designing and printing silkscreened concert posters, but soon branched out into further fields, designing fancy junk for whomever would pay them money. In addition to their work as illustrators and designers, these art-school refugees continue their fine art pursuits through exhibitions, lectures, and artists' residencies throughout North America, spreading the gospel of silkscreen to anyone inclined to listen. Their awards include honors from the Art Directors' Club, American Illustration, and Communication Arts.
