Some of the first media reactions:

"The folks at Barcelona’s artist and designer consortium, ROJO, have been on our radar for quite some time now. Their wonderful design books, coupled with a multitude of other artistic endeavors, have more or less become staples of our design diet. Luckily for us we’re still hungry for more, because as our preferred purveyors of Spanish design perfection, they’ve got even more goodies for us to eat up. This time the group behind ROJO Magazine is going beyond print and product collaborations by expanding into the world of video art. Their new site, ROJO TV Online focuses on bringing art fans the best video talent around, completely ad free. Not only can you see astonishing work created by artists such as Robert Seidel, Antenna, and Javier Longobardo, but if you fancy yourself a master of the moving image, there’s an open call to submit your own pieces. So go ahead … show the art world you’re a creative force to be reckoned with." www.joshspear.com USA

"Just launched today by Barcelona-based art publisher and artist management group Rojo, their new online TV channel Rojo TV is an artsy alternative to the others. Unlike the streaming QOOB TV, which features short movies but done more by filmmakers and designers than fine artists, Rojo TV focuses only on creative video works from artist-filmmakers..." www.coolhunting.com USA

Boris Hoppek Mascherare

15.05.2008 - 20.06.2008
"Let me make this clear. Yes, I made the c.m.o.n.s. for Opel, sorry. Again I don't have a text about the exhibition. First because i am bad with writing and second because I don't explain my work, well I just explain that I don't explain it. Why I don't explain stands for the concept of not explaining. could be - a) I use it as an excuse to cover up first that I am bad with writing or - b) my work has nothing that has to be explained, or - c) it has something, but I don't want to explain just a small part of it not to mention all the subliminal elements and interpretation variations I don't know of. Whatever, let's say its all together." Mascherare is Boris Hoppek's first solo exhibition in Italy.

MWM 20/20

13.05.2008 - 30.05.2008
Matt W. Moore, painter, designer and illustrator, started with pencils, then spraypaint, then brush, and now also does digital topographical maps of his day dreams. The ideas, shapes, colors, and flow have been the same abstract ideas of a lifetime. The tools have changed... the vocabulary has grown, but the balance has not been lost. MWM's show is a personal celebration of his abstract art and design across disciplines and will feature a full 3D mural installation integrating new "Vectorfunk" works printed on textile and new paintings on canvas. The vernissage event will also see the release of his first monographic book published by ROJO® and will be honoured with the artist presence.

Vernissage: Tuesday 13.05.2008 from 20.00h to 22.00h

Kevin Brand Set the World on Fire

07.05.2008 - 31.05.2008
Brand's new Bell-Roberts exhibition consists of unique wall-pieces that explore the boundary between low-relief and painting. Working in such media as painted wood, Perspex, and pressed aluminium, Kevin Brand takes his inspiration from simple every day objects and reinterprets them. In his hand, egg-cartons, cardboard boxes, and lego-like churches, sky-scrapers and factories are re-invented into formal compositions.

Silje Heggren Because the night belongs to lovers

07.05.2008 - 28.05.2008
Silje Heggren is a Norwegian artist, living and working in Bergen. Her main media is painting. Siljes works is often about young, social people and their relations. In these paintings the subject is brought to life from photos taken in bars and clubs. They show people dancing, drinking and partying. The images are instantly recognizable, but they also invite to further reflection.Who are these hedonistic people, what are their relationship to each other, and are they really as carefree as they seem?

Sixeart Mundo Animal

25.04.2008 - 29.05.2008
The work of Sixeart mixes psychedelic abstraction with comic book inspired figuration. Sixeart’s work has a childlike innocence that is combined with a almost hallucinogenic sense of second sight. His gestural and painterly works are often large scale although he does also work in sculpture, on canvas and with screen prints. This is his first solo show in Denmark and features the international presentation of his book published by ROJO®.

Luciana Araújo Besta Fera

24.04.2008 - 22.05.2008

BO130, Microbo, Morcky & TheBoghe

18.04.2008 - 16.05.2008
Heliumcowboy artspace and Modart magazine present new work by Microbo, BO130, Morcky and TheBoghe. These artists belong to a generation of creative producers whose working area is quite hard to define. Their artistic background, the diversity of cultural influences working on them range from several disciplines, forms of expression and visual languages. If you try to retrace their aesthetic roots, you have to find the right track first. The influences and the visual places that serve as playground for these artists are extremly diverse, but they do have something in common: their passion for street painting and a wide exploration of media aesthetics that has led to a series of successful shows all around the globe.
